Chambers new website is taking shape.
About us
Assize Court Chambers was established in 1967 and has developed itself as a multi-disciplinary set with a proud heritage and firmly established roots at the Bristol Bar.
Ideally located in the heart of Bristol, Assize is conveniently adjacent to the Crown Court and a stones throw from both the Magistrates’ Court and the newly built Civil Justice Centre. Chambers itself spans five floors which include full conference facilities, library and a reception area.
Since the restructure of chambers in 2002 there have been continuing refurbishments to improve both the characteristic building and the facilities which can be offered to clients. Chambers now boasts a state of the art computer system used by the clerks, allowing internet access to all members of chambers. All of our Barristers have the use of private, secure e-mail accounts which, when agreed, are used to receive and return instructions and advices, when a rapid turnaround is required for those urgent cases.
As a small but ambitious and forward thinking set of chambers, Assize can offer a comprehensive advocacy service across a wide range of the legal spectrum. Many members have the advantage of varied and interesting careers before they were called to the Bar and this experience has proved invaluable in a large number of circumstances.
All members strive to keep up to date with the latest legal developments and chambers are happy to provide seminars or teaching days when appropriate.
Chambers is keen to maintain the professional ethos that has been developed, whilst also offering a friendly, efficient and personal environment. We are proud of the prestigious history that surrounds chambers and it should be noted that many members of the Bar have been tenants here. In an ever changing legal environment, we are dedicated to offering a competitive, flexible, client friendly service.
